The CGMA University Program at the University of Warsaw helps students develop technical, business and strategic skills valued by employers

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has entered into an agreement with the Faculty of Economic Sciences (Wydział Nauk Ekonomicznych) at the University of Warsaw, home to Poland's top-ranked finance and accounting programme*, to offer the CGMA University Program through its newly awarded CIMA Advanced University Partner accreditation.

This collaboration creates new opportunities for students at the University of Warsaw to gain a prestigious, internationally recognised qualification alongside their university studies, helping them develop the technical, business and strategic skills and professional credentials sought by today's employers.

The CGMA University Program is offered through the Finance and Accounting of Enterprises (Finanse i Rachunkowość Przedsiębiorstw) specialisation within the University of Warsaw's bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting. The programme is available to both full-time and part-time (evening) students from the third semester of their studies.

Students who successfully complete all required CIMA accredited courses need only pass the external Business Accounting 2 (BA2) Fundamentals of Management Accounting Objective Test to obtain CIMA’s Certificate in Business Accounting (Cert BA), which is a strong stand-alone qualification while also providing a formal entry route into the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Professional Qualification.

Professor Gabriela Grotkowska, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw, said:

“Being awarded CIMA accreditation is an important recognition of the quality and business relevance of the education we provide to our students. We want our graduates not only to be well prepared for careers in finance and business, but also to understand how management accounting information supports strategic decision-making within organisations.

“The CGMA University Program gives students the opportunity to develop competences and gain an internationally recognised qualification alongside their studies. It reflects our commitment to building a programme that combines academic excellence with practical business experience and prepares students for the demands of today's job market.”

Jakub Bejnarowicz, Regional Director – Europe at CIMA, commented:

“We are delighted to work with the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw – which has established itself as one of the country's premier centres for finance education – to help create new opportunities for the next generation of finance and business leaders.

“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to preparing students for the evolving needs of employers and ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills and global perspective they need to become future-ready professionals, who can guide and lead their organisations towards sustainable success.”

*The University of Warsaw's Finance and Accounting programme is currently ranked number one in Poland in the Perspektywy Higher Education Ranking, reflecting the university's long-standing reputation for academic excellence and its strong links with business and industry.
