On 13 April 2026, the Faculty of Economic Informatics at the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA) hosted a CIMA workshop for students of Management Accounting, organised in cooperation with AICPA & CIMA. The event took place in connection with the recent CIMA accreditation for the Accounting (BA) and Accounting and Auditing (MA) study programmes, awarded in October 2025.
A key highlight of the workshop was an inspiring guest lecture by Jan Chládek, FCMA, CGMA, CFO of Coca‑Cola HBC CZ & SK, who shared his professional journey and practical insights into the role of management accounting in supporting strategic decision‑making at the highest level of business. Drawing on his experience as a CIMA member, he explained why management accounting competencies are essential for finance professionals aiming for senior leadership positions.
In the second part of the event, Michał Wolny and Paweł Rozen, representatives of CIMA, delivered a session titled “Introduction to the CGMA Professional Qualification”. The presentation introduced students to the structure and value of the CGMA qualification, highlighting how its strong focus on financial management, strategy and risk prepares graduates for roles such as financial controller or CFO and helps build future‑proof careers in finance.
During the workshop, it was also emphasised that EUBA is currently the only university in Slovakia with CIMA‑accredited programmes in accounting, creating new opportunities for students to gain internationally recognised professional exemptions and connect with a global network of finance and business leaders.
We extend pur sincere thanks to prof. Ing. Miloš Tumpach, PhD and Ing. Daša Mokošová, PhD for their cooperation, invitation and continued commitment to strengthening the link between academic education and professional practice.
